Chat not responding
If your companion stops replying, there are a few likely causes, and they have different fixes. Work through them to figure out which one you are hitting.
Did you hit the daily chat cap?
The free tier gives you 10 chats a day. If you have sent your tenth message, the companion will not reply again until the daily count resets, or until you upgrade. This is the most common reason chat seems to stop.
Check whether you are near the cap. If you are, you can wait for the reset the next day, or move to a plan that raises or removes the limit. Starter+, Spice+, and VIP all lift the cap. See the free tier explained and plans and pricing.
Is it a connection problem?
If you are well under the cap and replies just stop or never finish streaming, it is probably the connection or a stale session:
- Check your internet. A dropped connection stops the reply mid-stream.
- Refresh the page or restart the app.
- Log out and back in to clear a stale session.
- Try a different browser or device to rule out a local issue.
Replies normally arrive in a few seconds, so a reply that hangs for much longer points to a connection issue rather than the companion thinking.
Did the message hit a content block?
If the companion goes quiet or deflects right after a specific message, you may have steered into a blocked theme. The content rules apply in chat, and the companion will not follow into banned territory like non-consent, minors, incest, or bestiality. That is by design, not a malfunction. Change direction and the conversation continues. See content policy and what is allowed.
Is the app down?
If chat is broken for every companion and refreshing does not help, there may be a temporary outage on our side. Wait a few minutes and try again. If it persists, check the contact page for any status update or reach support.
A photo or video request is stuck
If you asked for media and it is the generation that is hanging, not the chat:
- Photos generate fairly quickly. Video takes longer, so give it a reasonable wait.
- If it fails, the credits are re-issued automatically. See didn't get my credits.
That is a media issue, not a chat issue, even though it happens inside the conversation.
Still stuck
If the companion will not reply, you are under the daily cap, your connection is fine, and you did not hit a content block, contact support through the live chat widget at support.spicematch.ai or the contact page. Tell them which companion, roughly when it started, and what your last message was, so they can reproduce it.
